Eggs are one of humans’ most used protein source, which makes them almost always available in our kitchens. Consequently, eggs are within our dogs’ reach and this makes us wonder, what will happen if dogs eat eggs or egg rolls? Furthermore, are eggs harmful for a specific dog age, gender or specie?

Dogs are carnivores no doubt in that, however, this does not mean that dogs can’t eat any thing other then meat. After rabbits and small wild animals, eggs had always been on wild dogs’ food list.These days, dogs are domesticated animals, their food changed.

Mother nature is all about balance, and animals are no exception. When it comes to food, a balanced meal is the best choice for any specie of animals. Furthermore, if you knew that meat is full with nothing but protein and some fat, you will understand the reason behind dogs eating eggs in the wild (in addition to other foods as well).

Dogs need certain nutrients to grow, be active and stay healthy. For instance, vitaminsminerals, lots and lots of fats. If meat provides dogs with protein, eggs also introduce:

  1. High quality protein; One egg has 7 grams of high-quality protein.
  2. High quality fat; 5 Grams of fats, and 1.6 grams of saturated fat.
  3. Iron, vitamins, minerals, and carotenoids.

However, these are not the only reasons to feed your dog eggs, there still are much more benefits for adding eggs to your dog’s diet
